An improper turn is making an illegal right of left turn at a traffic light. The driver of the vehicle should turn right or left when appropriate control signals apply or as told by a police officer, or to avoid accidents. The charge is also valid if the driver turns from the incorrect lane, for example, turning right from the left lane of the street.
