Visitor Visas

Immigration Law - Visitor Visas

Definition:

In general, visitor visas indicate that an application has been reviewed by U.S offices, giving eligibility to an individual to enter the country. A citizen of a country outside of the U.S must obtain a visitor visa so that they may travel to the U.S. The visitor visa (B-2 visa) allows an individual passage for recreational travel, such as tourism, visiting friends or relatives, vacation, etc.

Consequences of Visitor Visas:

According to the law, a visitor visa applicant is an immigrant. Applicants need to be sure to show that the reason for their trip is for pleasure, that they will stay for a limited period of time, that they have funds to cover their expenses and that they have residence outside of the U.S. If the U.S offices deny the visitor visa, the applicant may apply again if they have new evidence showing they are viable candidates.
